Background & Experience
Ed merged his Atlanta CPA practice of O’Neal & Associates, PC, CPAs with Smith Adcock and Company LLP as of January 1, 2018. Ed provides comprehensive income, trust and estate tax planning services and also provides consultation and compliance services for closely held businesses and their owners. He has extensive experience in representing company and individual clients before the Internal Revenue Service in various controversies including penalty abatements, offers of compromise, filing of appeals, collection issues and tax return examinations. Ed also provides legal support for stockholder disputes, insurance claim settlements, business lawsuits, business sales and purchases as well as divorce agreement negotiations.
Education
Ed is a member of the Georgia Society of CPAs and the American Institute of CPAs. He graduated with honors from Augusta State University with a B.B.A. Degree in Accounting.
Organization Involvement
Ed lives on his farm in Greensboro, GA and is an active member of the Rotary Club of Greene and Putnam Counties and is currently the Club Treasurer and was President in 2007-2008. He has held numerous positions in Rotary over the past 25 plus years at both the District and Club levels including District Treasurer and three years as Assistant District Governor. He was Treasurer for the Lake Country Board of Realtors at Lake Oconee for 2016 and 2017.
He enjoys timber farming, boating, community festivals, UGA football, concerts, community theatre, traveling, and Rotary community service projects.
