Alan K. Clark, CPA, MBA is a partner in the Atlanta accounting firm of Smith, Adcock and Company where he focuses principally on the construction industry. His clients include major general contractors and subcontractors in commercial, heavy and highway construction. In addition to covering federal tax issues, Mr. Clark's 40 years of experience include accounting and auditing, financial reporting, representation before the IRS, and other services to contractors.

He is a member of several construction industry trade associations. In addition, he is: a member and the vice chair of the national Tax and Legislative Affairs Committee of Construction Financial Management Association; a member of the national Tax and Fiscal Affairs Committee of AGC of America; a member of the Associated Builders and Contractors national Tax Advisory Committee; a former board member of the Georgia Chapter of CFMA; a board member of American Subcontractors Association - Georgia Chapter; a contributing author for the LexisNexis - Matthew Bender publication Financial Management and Accounting for the Construction Industry; a past president of the American Subcontractors Association - Georgia Chapter.

He has written the 2 day continuing education course for Construction Financial Management Association titled Federal Income Taxation of the Construction Industry. He was a coauthor of the Revenue Recognition course for CFMA.

He has written and conducted hundreds of full and partial day courses and presentations on construction industry taxation, accounting, auditing, and financial reporting.

He co-authored the Chapter "A Comprehensive Financial Reporting System" in the Prentice Hall Encyclopedia of Accounting Systems, Second Edition.
